While visiting Oahu, we took the hike to Diamond Head. I will post a few photos from the hike below. I imagine that a few people show up to Diamond Head Crater and expect something a bit more finished. Here are a few things you should know…
- Bring water. There is no water along the route. It gets hot quickly and you will want water.
- Go early! If you go after 8:00 AM you will be toasty and dripping with sweat. The Crater opens at 6:00 AM.
- The path starts off as paved concrete. It becomes a rocky, uneven dirt path. Then it becomes STAIRS…many many steep stairs. Be prepared.
- Be prepared for a lot of people. We arrived a little after 6:00 am and the path was swarmed with tourists. Tourists that were unprepared for the hike.
Here are a few photos of the path along the way. I will post other photos of the view from Diamond Head in a separate update.
