Diamond Head Crater

Diamond Head
Diamond Head

While visiting Oahu, we took the hike to Diamond Head. I will post a few photos from the hike below. I imagine that a few people show up to Diamond Head Crater and expect something a bit more finished. Here are a few things you should know…

  1. Bring water. There is no water along the route. It gets hot quickly and you will want water.
  2. Go early! If you go after 8:00 AM you will be toasty and dripping with sweat. The Crater opens at 6:00 AM.
  3. The path starts off as paved concrete. It becomes a rocky, uneven dirt path. Then it becomes STAIRS…many many steep stairs. Be prepared.
  4. Be prepared for a lot of people. We arrived a little after 6:00 am and the path was swarmed with tourists. Tourists that were unprepared for the hike.

Here are a few photos of the path along the way. I will post other photos of the view from Diamond Head in a separate update.
